We all know that you can have the best product, service or campaign in the world but if no one knows about it, then all your efforts are wasted. However, it is often marketing planning which drops off the list and doesn't get done. There's always something more urgent to attend to.
Working for yourself (particularly if it’s just you) can be a lonely place. Having a mentor will allow you to talk to someone who is on your side. Someone who is not there to judge you but help you get the most out of your business and yourself. You may need somone to discuss what is holding you back both on the business front and personally - what are the things which are keeping you awake at night! What made you start your social enterprise and still excites you.
It is very easy to be caught up in the urgent every day tasks but it is vital for the future of your business that you include time for thinking, strategy and planning.
It may be that you already have someone doing your marketing or your budget won't stretch to engaging me to do a full Marketing Plan for you but you know that you need some guidance.
As a business owner myself, I can advise you on your marketing but also support you in your overall business decisions. I believe in an holistic approach and I will also talk to you about managing your time, work/life balance etc - if you want me to!
I will share my Marketing Plan template with you which covers all the areas you should consider. You can read what is included on this page of my website.
At the outset, we will agree how often you want to talk (usually on Skype or Zoom) and how long you see the mentoring relationship continuing. We will establish your goals and hoped for outcomes. At the end of each session, we will agree what actions you will take before the next and we will review this at the beginning of the next session. I will be responsible for doing this but you will be the one to do the work!
We will work our way through the Marketing Plan together - this can include reviewing what you already have in place as well as new ideas. I will also share useful articles and my contacts where relevant.
I am flexible as to how we work together. The first session will be free of charge so that we can get to know each other and you can feel sure that you want to work with me. After that we can work on an adhoc basis but I would recommend that you commit to a set number of sessions to start to make sure that you have that accountability and commitment, which are important aspects to having a mentor.
